My Professional Journey

Back in May 2018, I was a fresh graduate — full of curiosity but with little idea where the real world would take me. My first opportunity came from a telecommunication company, where I started as an Administrative Assistant. It was my first taste of corporate life, and I was in charge of inventory management — from simple office supplies to major assets like laptops and cellphones.

At first, it felt overwhelming, especially handling documentation for assets worth over ₱5,000, but that’s where I learned the importance of organization, attention to detail, and accountability. I took pride in keeping everything in order — making sure our team never ran out of what they needed, and that all tools were ready for the technicians on-site.

I also assisted our Admin Officer with financial liquidations. When she resigned, I was trusted to take her place — becoming an Admin Officer myself. That promotion taught me a valuable lesson: when you work hard quietly and show reliability, people notice. I spent two years there, learning how systems work and how teamwork fuels productivity.

Growing Beyond My Comfort Zone

My next chapter was at Globe Telecommunications in Mindanao — one of the biggest companies in the Philippines. I joined as a Project Coordinator in the Site Acquisition Department, and honestly, I didn’t expect to get the job. I still saw myself as a beginner.

There, I handled Northern Mindanao and worked closely with subcontractors and landowners. I attended hearings, negotiated lease agreements, and secured permits from local governments. It was intimidating at first — talking to landowners, mayors, and government officials — but it helped me build confidence, communication skills, and negotiation experience.

I stayed there for three years, until the pandemic forced many of us to move on.

Adapting During the Pandemic

Like many others, I had to reinvent myself during COVID-19. I started small — selling food online to get by — but I also found a new path as an ESL Teacher, helping kids learn English. That experience taught me patience, empathy, and the joy of connecting with people virtually.

Returning to the Field

After the pandemic, I joined another telecommunications company, this time a Chinese-owned firm working on fiber optics projects across Mindanao. My role as a Right of Way Officer involved a lot of travel — meeting with mayors, engineers, and department heads to discuss city plans, household coverage, and permits.

It was demanding, but I grew a lot from it. I learned how to handle pressure, negotiate professionally, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. After two years, I felt it was time for a new challenge — one that would allow me to grow in the digital world.

Transition to the Online Space

A friend introduced me to the world of remote and online work, and that’s where everything changed. I started working for an Australian-owned medical agency, which provided intensive training in Digital Marketing.

That training opened doors for me — I learned website building, social media strategies, SEO and keyword research, marketing research, and e-commerce management. My first client was a marketing solutions company in Kansas, where I handled client onboarding, prepared documentation, assisted with social media management, and coordinated with the graphic design team.

After that, I worked as an Executive Assistant for a U.S.-based company owned by an amazing and empowered Black American CEO. I supported two clients there:

  • One as a Shopify website builder and designer, and

  • Another as an all-around digital marketer, managing social media, websites, research, and even influencer outreach.

What I’ve Learned Along the Way

Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that growth comes from being uncomfortable. I started as someone who simply followed instructions, but over time, I became someone who could take initiative, solve problems, and adapt to new industries — from telecommunications to education to digital marketing.

My strengths lie in my adaptability, organization, communication, and continuous learning mindset.

My weakness — which I’ve been actively working on — is sometimes taking on too much responsibility because I want everything done perfectly. But over the years, I’ve learned the importance of delegation and trusting the process.

Every job I’ve had — whether in the field negotiating land permits or online managing digital campaigns — has shaped me into a professional who values growth, humility, and service. I don’t just work to finish tasks; I work to understand, improve, and create meaningful impact in every team I’m part of.

Personal Details

Hello! My name is Khimver Lee H. Jabian, a proud Filipina, born in January 1995, and now 30 years old. I’m happily married and a mother of two wonderful kids who constantly inspire me to do better in both life and career. I am currently based in the Philippines, where I continue to grow personally and professionally while cherishing every moment with my family.

Outside of work, I find joy in the simple things — baking, cooking, and spending time at the beach. Traveling with my family is something I treasure deeply; it reminds me that success isn’t just about achievements but also about the memories we create with our loved ones. I also dedicate part of my time to supporting mental health wellness organizations, as I strongly believe that emotional well-being is just as important as professional growth.

Academically, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Mindanao. I am a Registered Psychometrician and also hold a Teacher Certificate Program qualification, making me a Licensed Professional Teacher.

Education and continuous learning have always been close to my heart — I see them as lifelong journeys rather than destinations.

One of the highlights of my career was becoming a Language and Cultural Exchange Scholar under the Ministry of Spain, where I taught English at CEIP Hermanos Amorós Fernández in Las Mesas, Province of Cuenca, Spain. That experience opened my eyes to the beauty of cultural diversity and strengthened my love for teaching and connecting with people from all walks of life.

In everything I do, I carry with me a sense of humility, passion, and purpose. Whether it’s in education, digital work, or my personal endeavors, I strive to make a positive impact — one small act, one meaningful connection, one kind word at a time.
